Jean-Luc Baldès, the master of Malbec, celebrates his 40th vintage at Clos Triguedina and we are pleased to be showing them in Toronto on April 20th.
Cahors vineyard’s leading figure, Jean-Luc Baldès devotes himself to the valorization and quality of the Terroir, producing the famous “Black Wine”; a wine harvested from the most prestigious parcel in the appellation and produced with ancient practices. Not keen on following the whims of the fashion, he has two goals: to make elegant wines and always looking to “Push Cahors upward”. He aspires to attain “Grand Cru” recognition in the Cahors appellation.
Winemaker of the year in 2017 by Le Guide Hachette, we are pleased to be showing his current releases as well as some library wines. New vintages as well as many back vintages all produced by Baldès will be available for ordering.

VIOGNIER CHARDONNAY 2015
50% Chardonnay, 50% Viognier
Jean-Luc Baldès reproduces the Moon Wine (Vin de Lune) of the 17th century, when the peasants picked the grapes at night in order to conceal part of the harvest from the local landowner, therefore, paying him less taxes. Today, the grapes are harvested early in the morning to preserve the freshness of the fruit.
PETIT CLOS 2014
85% Malbec, 15% Merlot
Jean-Luc Baldès, a recognized Malbec specialist, extends to you a personal invitation to discover an original French Malbec. Dashing, Petit Clos is a fruity and full-bodied wine. Perfectly accessible young but a 5 years of aging will reveal its true fullness.
CLOS TRIGUEDINA 2013
85% Malbec, 13% Merlot, 2% Tannat
The name Clos Triguedina – “Me Trigo de Dina” means “Longing to dine” in the ancient Occitane. The name of the family estate is reflected in this classic cuvée, made by the winery since 1830 and for 7 generations. A wine of consistency and high quality, preserving both its typicity and finesse.

100% Malbec
Terroir: 2nd Terrace.
Red clay with limestone layer situated on a slight incline with great sun exposure. Ripe plum and black fruit flavors on the nose. Rich and full-bodied palate with genereous red fruit and blackberry flavors. Ample mouth with round, dark tannins and a nice hint of oak.

100% Malbec
Terroir: 4th Terrace. Limestone with an abundant presence of iron. Powerfull nose with blacurrent aromas, hints of mint and liquorice. Firm and consistent palate with flavors of truffles, spices and
black plums. Generous wine with nice tannic finesse. Long, rich and fresh finish.

Terroir: 3rd Terrace; clayey-siliceous and clayey-calcareous soil with iron ore on gentle slopes.
Intense and lively nose with flavors of cassis, plum and subtle oaky aroma. Concentrated but very suave palate with splendid fruit and spice flavours. Complex structure with opulence and velvety tannins. Powerful finish.

Terroir: 3rd Terrace; clayey-siliceous and clayey-calcareous soil with iron ore on gentle slopes.

100% Malbec
Terroir: A selected parcel on the 3rd terrace, clayey-siliceous and clayey-calcareous soils on gentle slopes. Opulent nose on dried fruit aromas, concentrated and chewy black fruits and prunes. This New Black Wine shows great complexity with an astonishing variety of flavors and silky tannins. Fresh long finish with a pure and intense palate.
