Portfolio Tasting - Sada Wines - The Living Vine
Date: Oct 04/12, Thu Time: 04:30:00-07:30:00 Style: Drop-In
Portfolio Tasting - Sada Wines - In conjunction with The Living Vine Inc., we were pleased to offer another exclusive Fine Wine Reserve tasting during Sada Wines first visit to Ontario. Davide and Alfonso Sada were on hand to taste our members through their organically grown portfolio.
The philosophy of Sada is based on the conviction that wine must be a natural expression of the land where it is produced, with full respect for the qualities of the grapes and the characteristics the region is known for. With quality as the ultimate objective, Sada produces sophisticated wines that have their own style and a distinctive identity and tradition.
An amazing line up of wines were made available for our members to taste including:
2011 SADA VERMENTINO IGT Toscana (Bolgheri) - $24.95
A pure Vermentino made from grapes grown on 8 hectares of vines planted on hill slopes with a southeast exposure and northwest. Cold fermented in stainless steel tanks after soft pressing, it presents a straw-yellow colour with gold hues. A floral bouquet with tropical aromas, full-bodied and flavourful on the palate, it is accompanied by good minerality and freshness.
2010 SADA "INTEGOLO" IGT Toscana (Bolgheri) - $16.95
Ranked 2 Red Glasses Gambero Rosso. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano grapes, vinified together in stainless steel tanks, where they rest for three months while awaiting to be bottle before the Spring season.
2011 SADA "BALDORO" IGT Toscana (Bolgheri) - $26.95
Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano and Alicante Bouschet grapes grown on Guyot trellises and vinified together in stainless steel tanks where they rest, mature and grow until being bottled a year after harvesting. Deep ruby red, with fruity aromas and hints of black berries.
2008 "CARPOLI" IGT Toscana (Bolgheri) - $39.95

An intense ruby-red colour and a complex bouquet of ripe red fruit with a touch of jam and hints of tobacco. Delicious on the palate with an extraordinarily long finish.
2008 VENDEMMIA TARDIVA Vermentino IGT Toscana (Bolgheri) - $89.95
The well rippened grapes of Vermentino, are picked up by hand late in the season, but always when the climatic conditions are the most favourable for fermentation, of at least a partial mould creation. After resting for a brief period in the store house, the grapes are manually pressed using small old fashioned vertical presses. 1 year in stainless steel, 2-3 years in small French oak barriques, 2 years in the bottle.
