Marc Russell
Founder, CEO, and a shareholder of The Fine Wine Reserve.
Marc graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario. A former exploration geologist, Mr. Russell worked for Kidd Creek, Falconbridge, Westfield, Greenstone, Bikerman Engineering, Seabridge Gold and others. In the field, Marc was in charge of multimillion dollar gold exploration programs employing up to 30+ employees in Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Between field assignments, Marc was involved in project development including project feasibility and computer geologic resource modeling. After seven countries and 15 years in the field, Marc decided it was time to return home and explore new opportunities. After two years of research and concept development, the Fine Wine Reserve was born in 2003.
Marc is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. Perishable, fragile and valuable, wines require a very particular and precise climate-controlled environment. The creation and maintenance of this environment is a "mission critical" one, and based on fundamental scientific and engineering principals. Collectors are well served storing their wines with an owner-operator like Marc who has a background in these disciplines.
